EAST LIVERPOOL – Richard E. “Dick” Ashbaugh, 86, of Spruce Court in East Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at 7:58 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, following a brief illness.
He was born in Waynesboro, Pa., on March 19, 1926, a son of the late Robert E. and Lillie Dickens Ashbaugh.
During World War II, he served for four years with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific, and also had spent three years in the Air Force.
A Protestant by faith, Mr. Ashbaugh had been a grinder operator for Mack Truck, until his retirement.
Surviving him at home is his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Ashbaugh.
He is also survived by two sons, Louis “Joseph” Quinn, Jr., of East Liverpool, and Stephen R. Quinn of Salem; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Baumgardner of Waynesboro, Pa., seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Mr. Ashbaugh was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn.
Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, where the family will be present.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will take place at a later date at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
