Nancy M. Laneve, 97
NEWELL-Nancy M. Laneve, 97 of Newell passed away at the Weirton Medical Center on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 with her loving family at her side.
A daughter of the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Papandrea Musuraca, Nancy was born in East Liverpool on March 29, 1915.
Nancy will also be remembered as the warm, compassionate, pleasant person that she was. Upon graduating from East Liverpool High School in 1935, where she was the valedictorian, she went to work as the office manager at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company office in East Liverpool. She retired from the former Waterford Park Race Track where she worked as a food service manager.
She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, belonging to the ladies guild and the reach out group.
Her giving and loving spirit continued as she worked well into her 80s, driving for meals on wheels and being involved with the Hancock County Sheltered Workshop parent group.
Nancy continued her loyalty to her Alma matter, belonging to the ELCH alumni association and its old guard.
Her reputation as an accomplished seamstress will not be forgotten by her many family and friends.
Her husband, Anthony F. Laneve Sr., who she married on July 12, 1947, preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1974. Her brothers, Ralph, Frank, and Joseph Musuraca and one sister, Kathryn Galeoti, preceded her in death as well.
Nancy leaves two sons, Carman J. Laneve of East Liverpool, and Anthony F. Laneve Jr. of Newell; four daughters, Eleanor Ames and her husband Alfred of Luray, Va.; Nancy Barlow and her husband Stephen of East Liverpool, and Elizabeth and Catherine Laneve of Weirton, and three grandchildren, Mark (Katarina) Barlow, Joseph Laneve, and Emily (Matt) Onufrak.
Rev. Father Eric Antwi will preside for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell. Family and friends will gather at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Friday afternoon and evening from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., with a recital of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
