LA PLATA, Md. – Larry William Call, 75, of La Plata, Maryland, passed away in Waldorf, Maryland at Hospice House of Charles County, Jan. 17, 2013 after an extended illness. He was born on Dec. 31, 1937 in Hammondsville, Ohio to the late Lawrence Call and Ruth (Van Dyke) Call.
He served in the United States Navy and spent two tours in the Vietnam War.
Mr. Call was a rail car electrician with the Washington DC Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Ann (Karn) Call, brothers, Gary Call, Sr. and Richard A. Call; his five children, Jodice Ann Rannin, Daniel Ray Call, Yvonne Louise Barry, Ramona Lynne Hanson and Lisa Renee Montbriand; seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received to celebrate Mr. Call’s life at a memorial gathering at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, Pa. of Charlotte Hall, Md., on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 2- 4 p.m., with the Reverend Tom Cogle of Calvary Grace Assembly of God presiding over the memorial service starting at 4 p.m.
Interment will follow at a later date at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery. Local arrangements made by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. of Charlotte Hall, MD.
