Southern hosts foreign exchange student

Southern Local High School was recognized by the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) Foundation for participating in its Academic Year in America exchange program during 2017. The school hosted foreign exchange student junior Justine Eckel of Germany, who resided with a family in Wellsville while gaining an education at SLHS. Eckels, pictured presenting the certificate to SLHS Guidance Counselor Nancy Saling, will return to her home country in June and said she has enjoyed her American experience, from attending homecoming and prom to participating in the Art Club and FFA.
