A Waste Management garbage truck driven by Harry M. Crossland, 45, Frostburg, Md., backed into the stopped car behind him, driven by Darline J. Shaffer, 75, Lisbon. The accident occurred on Saltwell Road in Lisbon at 1:52 p.m. Monday, and the impact resulted in the truck and Shaffer’s Focus becoming hooked together. Crossland was cited for improper backing, while Shaffer was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with possible injuries.

Sea Joy, 66, Salem, was turning from U.S. Route 30 onto County Road Home in Center Township when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a semi-truck driven by Christopher J. Fontaine, 34, of Belchertown, Mass. The accident occurred at 4 p.m. Monday, and Fontaine was cited for failure to stop an assured cleared distance.

Matthew L. Harper, 22, Wellsville, was cited for making an illegal turn when he tried to make a U turn on state Route 9 in Hanover Township and went off the road into the yard of John Kosko. The accident occurred at 8:07 p.m. Saturday.

Paul D. Trotter, 57, East Liverpool, struck a deer while driving on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 5:23 p.m. Monday.

Edward A. Derringer, 71, Rogers, struck a deer while driving on state Route 170 in Middleton Township at 7:16 p.m. Sunday.

Debra J. Danks, 53, New Waterford, struck a deer while driving on Columbiana-Waterford Road in Fairfield Township at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday.

Jamie L. Smith, 35, East Liverpool, was turning from U.S. Route 30 onto state Route 7 in Madison Township at noon Monday when her vehicle caught fire.

Dominic F. Cicozi, 29, Youngstown, was driving on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 8:21 p.m. Nov. 25 when a vehicle coming the other way crossed the center line, forcing Cicozi to drive off the road and into a fence to avoid a collision. The other drive, identified as Raul A. Bautista, 25, East Palestine, reportedly kept going before being stopped by Pennsylvania State Police and charged with OVI. Bautista tested .301 on the BAC machine.
