East Liverpool Police Reports

Officers were dispatched Monday night to a North Shady Lane residence where Jill Nolan, 40, reported her husband, John F. Nolan, 44, from whom she is separated, came to her home, opened the door and threw his wedding ring inside, then left. He was contacting her via phone, according to Mrs. Nolan, so she blocked his number, which apparently angered him, and he returned to the home, entered the kitchen where she and her 8-year-old son were making popcorn. She said Mr. Nolan began yelling and screaming at her for blocking his number and for showing up at a court hearing that day. She told officers her son was telling his dad to stop yelling and leave, and her husband grabbed her phone, took it outside and threw it against the house, breaking it. He then left, tearing up the yard, according to reports. Mr. Nolan was charged with domestic violence and violating a protection order and transported to the county jail.

A Sprucevale Road woman called Saturday to report her grandson called and told her his mother, who lives on Avondale Street, was making suicidal threats. Officers arrived at the residence and spoke to the mother, who said she was upset because her husband won’t take care of the children, saying he doesn’t work and gambles away all the money. She told officers her 8-year-old son found her with a cord around her neck. She agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation, and the father agreed to stay with the children, ages 5 to 13.

Officers responded to a Montgomery Street home where a man reported finding his mother deceased. ASI ambulance responded and attempted CPR but reported the woman dead of an apparent cardiac arrest.

A Wilbert Avenue woman was having suicidal thoughts and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Her boyfriend took custody of an infant in the apartment with the mother’s consent.
