East Liverpool Police Reports

An officer reported seeing a vehicle with a cracked windshield and a blocked registration sticker leaving a known drug house, and initiated a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, the officer reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle. K-9 Officer Nero was deployed and reportedly alerted on the driver’s side door. The front seat passenger, Regis R. Allgood, 28, West Ninth Street, handed the officer a small baggie of marijuana and was cited for possession of marijuana. The driver was given a warning for the bracket obscuring the registration sticker, since it wasn’t his vehicle.

After watching a vehicle with a loud exhaust and no plate light leave LaBelle Terrace, an officer initiated a traffic stop as it turned onto Bank Street. He reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana while speaking with the driver, Steven H. Green Jr., 26, Illinois Avenue. Green reportedly told the officer he had smoked weed in the car but it had been awhile but said there was a marijuana “bowl” in the dashboard compartment. K-9 Officer Chris Green had his partner Nero search around the vehicle, and the canine reportedly alerted on the driver’s side door. The bowl was found in the vehicle, and Steven Green was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, no plate light and loud exhaust.

Officers were dispatched to the Giant Eagle on Bradshaw Avenue for a fight reportedly involving five people but found only Eric White, no age or address listed. White told them he was standing in the parking lot after picking up a job application, with his cell phone in his hand when a passing vehicle came to a screeching halt, came over a curb and pulled aggressively into the parking lot. A male exited the vehicle and threatened to assault White for what he perceived as him filming two women walking past, whom the unidentified man said were his mother and sister. He left prior to officers’ arrival and could not be located. White was advised to see the law director if he wished to pursue charges.

Maria Del Rosario Mareno, W. Seventh Street, reported receiving threatening text messages from a person she knows. She was directed to the law director to pursue charges.

Housing inspector Kayla Crowl reported Aaron Stevens, no address listed, was renting out property on Sugar Street without having the proper rental license or paying rental fees. Reports indicated he was cited.

Officers were dispatched to a St. Clair Avenue residence for an unresponsive man who they found lying on the living room floor, not breathing. Paramedics from ASI ambulance pronounced him dead and stood by until arrival of the coroner.

Courtney Boso, Thompson Avenue, reported her ex-boyfriend took her puppy and refuses to return it. She had proper paperwork proving ownership of the puppy, according to reports. Officers attempted to contact her ex-boyfriend, to no avail, and she was directed to the law director.

Brittany Kreefer, Avondale Street, reported a man she knows was tearing up her house. When officers arrived, Kreefer advised the man had left, everything was fine, and the officers were no longer needed.

Anthony Raines, no address listed, reported his bank card used fraudulently in Michigan for a purchase of more than $82. An investigation is pending.

Cynthia L. Lynn, 65, Wilbert Avenue, was cited for failure to control after she reportedly drove off the right side of St. Clair Avenue, striking a fire hydrant. Her vehicle was towed by First Class Towing. No injuries were reported.

While northbound on Monroe Street, Kara N. Hyde, 34, Fisher Road, stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of W. Fifth Street and proceeded through. Her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Goldie O. Norczyk, 95, Grant Street, Newell, who was westbound on W. Fifth and slowed but did not stop for her stop sign. ASI/ELFD ambulance treated Norczyk at the scene. No charges were reported.
