In Columbiana County Municipal Court, Brian N. Spinks, 33, South Rockhill Avenue, Alliance, was sentenced to 40 days in jail, fined $1,325, had his license suspended for life and required 30 hours community service for OVI refusal with prior within 20 years, driving under suspension, failure to comply and speeding.

A July 16 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Franklin Ray Gilbert, 41, Newell, W.Va., charged with obstructing official business and cited with driving under suspension and a stop sign violation. During a traffic stop on Sunday, Gilbert allegedly ran about 50 yards between houses on Clark Avenue in Wellsville before he was apprehended.

An Aug. 28 pretrial was set for David E. Betts, 75, state Route 170, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing his sister by the arm, throwing her off his porch and threatening to punch her in the face on Aug. 18, 2017.

Brianna L. Beaudoin, 33, Taylor Road, Rogers, was fined $300, credited 15 days in jail and required 30 hours community service for obstructing official business and two counts of domestic violence for striking her 15-year-old daughter in the face and grabbing her 18-year-old son by the throat during an altercation on June 25.

Greg L. Gullet, 45, Laughlin Mill Road, Lisbon, was fined $100 for menacing amended from domestic violence from a 1995 case. The previous domestic violence conviction was vacated and Gullet is no longer disqualified from obtaining a conceal carry permit.

An Aug. 23 pretrial was set for Justin A. Austin, 32, South Union Avenue, Salem, charged with disorderly conduct – intoxicated for allegedly yelling and using profanity in the area of Jefferson Avenue on Saturday.

An Aug. 6 pretrial was set for Jeremy M. Matuska, 45, Sunset Boulevard, Wellsville, charged with OVI first offense, OVI refusal first offense and failure to control.

Lori A. Whitman, 48, Yates Road, Salem, was fined $350 and had her license suspended for 180 days for no license, marijuana possession and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Ellen Ann Franks, 22, Canton, was fined $150 and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension.
