Columbiana County Grand Jury

LISBON — An East Liverpool area man who allegedly beat and robbed a man in early March after using a package delivery to gain access into his home was among the 31 cases heard this week by the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury, which issued 13 open indictments, two superseding indictments and 16 secret indictments. The secret indictments will be released as they are served, but the open and superseding indictments follow.

Robert E. Stevens, 48, Fox Chase Road, East Liverpool, is charged with tampering with evidence, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and felonious assault. On March 9, Stevens allegedly burned his bloody clothes he wore during the incident and had a package from a Fed-Ex box which he allegedly used to gain entrance into the home of Charles Travis, state Route 267, East Liverpool. He then allegedly robbed and assaulted Travis, taking $300 from his wallet and causing him to be flown by Medivac for severe injuries.

Joshua B. Petersen, 28, High Street, Leetonia, is charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, a gun specification and intimidation. On March 20, Peterson allegedly broke into the home of James J. Peters, Harding Avenue, Salem; took a gun; went to a home on Woodsend Drive, Salem, asking for food while holding a gun. Additionally, he is alleged to have threatened to shoot himself or law enforcement who surrounded him in a field where he ran.

A superseding indictment was issued against Allante J. Donaldson, 26, Youngstown. Donaldson is charged with two counts of tampering with evidence, three counts of possession of drugs and one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine and possession of heroin. On Oct. 29, 2017, Donaldson allegedly had tried to hide a baggie of one suspected controlled substance and another item with a white substance believed to be a controlled substance. Additionally, Donaldson allegedly had drug paraphernalia, hydrocodone, more than 10 grams of cocaine, more than a gram of heroin, fentanyl and alprazolam.

A superseding indictment was issued for Johnathan C. McCoy, 18, Case Road, Beloit, charged with improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and two counts of possession of drugs. On Oct. 22, 2017, McCoy allegedly had a loaded Highpoint .40 caliber pistol and a loaded N.E.F. .22 caliber revolver accessible to the operator or passenger in the vehicle. The revolver allegedly belonged to James Rucker. Additionally, McCoy had a schedule II controlled substance methylphenidate.

William A. Poteet, 20, Mountz Road, East Rochester, is charged with felonious assault, for allegedly stabbing Cody Pierson with a steak knife during a fight at Poteet’s home on March 18.

Jody L. McVay, 56, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, is charged with having weapons while under a disability. On Jan. 17, McVay allegedly had a 12-gauge shotgun when he was convicted in Meigs County in 2000 of an illegal manufacturing of drugs offense.

William L. Howard, 37, Akron, is charged with burglary for allegedly entering the home of Dale and Roxanne Hood, East Washington Street, Lisbon, on Feb. 17, 2018.

Ryan W. Virden, 29, Spillway Road, Lisbon, is charged with having weapons while under a disability. On Feb. 22, Virden allegedly had a loaded Glock 19 nine-millimeter handgun, after he was convicted of charges involving illegal possession of drugs in 2014 in Common Pleas Court.

Jason A. Allen, 41, Lincoln Avenue, Wellsville, is charged with burglary and four counts of criminal damaging. On March 1, Allen allegedly trespassed into the home of Angela (Dolly) Brophy, Lincoln Avenue, Wellsville, and damaged or caused physical harm to the properties of Linda Morris, 15th Street, Wellsville; Kathy Mattern, 15th Street, Wellsville; Dana Arnette, Commerce Street, Wellsville; and Robert and Michael McGraw, Commerce Street, Wellsville.

Amber L. Maraldo, 35, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, is charged with illegal conveyance of a deadly weapon into a court house and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Feb. 22, Maraldo allegedly entered the Columbiana County Municipal Court while she had a buck knife and a crack pipe in her purse. She failed to turn the knife over to court security before entering the building.

Cqualin L. Hawkins-Heard, 33, last known address Franklin Avenue, Salem, is charged with domestic violence for allegedly choking and punching Maria Graffius, when they argued on March 7 about him trying to take her son’s PlayStation 4.

Agustin Juarez Rojop, 20, Columbiana Street, Salem, is charged with attempted burglary and resisting arrest. On March 8, Rojop allegedly punched the front glass door of a home on East Third Street in Salem, while he had a belt buckle wrapped around his hand. He was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center for wounds on his hands and allegedly provided police with a fake name and no date of birth or other identifying information.

Keith G. Dishler, 21, Belmar Street, East Liverpool, is charged with felonious assault and resisting arrest. On March 10, Dishler allegedly harmed Courtney Boso, grabbing he by the hair, dragging her around the house and getting a knife to harm her.

DeJoure C. Hawkins, 18, South Street, Alliance, is charged with attempted burglary and criminal trespassing. On March 13, Hawkins allegedly tried to got through a window at a home on South Mahoning Avenue, Alliance, knocking a figurine off the inside of the window sill. He was later found behind a grill in a neighboring garage.

Richard T. Mann, 62, Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, is charged with OVI and driving under suspension. Mann reportedly had three prior OVI misdemeanor convictions, when he was allegedly driving under the influence on March 4.
