St. Clair Township Police Reports

An officer was driving Wednesday evening on Birch Road when he noticed the front door open on the Flaherty residence with a vehicle in the driveway, and knowing that Frank Flaherty Jr., 42, of that address, had an outstanding warrant, called for another officer as backup. They went to the house and said Flaherty came to the front door, saying, “Cops” as he did so, when they saw three people running into another room. Officers went inside and placed Flaherty into custody on the warrant. While searching him, they reported finding a syringe in his front pocket and said Flaherty admitted to just shooting up. The officers reported seeing in a trash can in the kitchen, where the other people had run, another 10 to 15 needles. Flaherty was also found to have two outstanding warrants from Mahoning County for possession of heroin and conveyance of drugs into a detention facility. He was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
