Lisbon Village PD reports
A caller reported two people were arguing behind Morgan’s Drug Store at 11:27 p.m. Thursday. Police found Shelli Hopkins who said she had started the argument with Jerrhian Stanl. Both were told to go home.
Wayne Smith, 52, Hornsby House, Lisbon, was charged with theft at 2:45 a.m. Friday for failing to pay a taxi cab driver the $20 he owed him. Sam Koons of Paul’s Cab in Salem said Smith called for a ride from Salem Hospital and he told Smith it would cost $20, and Smith said that was fine. After dropping Smith off at the Hornsby House, he went inside to get the money to pay for the ride but never returned, which is when Koons called police. Smith told police he knew he did not have the money when he called Paul’s Cab, but he needed a ride home.
Zachary S. Hicks, East Washington Street, reported backing up to make room for a turning semi-trailer when he struck the car behind him, which was being driven by Denise L. Balsley, Valley Road, Salem. This occurred at the Carter Lumber intersection at 6:34 a.m. Thursday.
Josiah P. Laughlin was cited for failure to stop an assured cleared distance following an accident on state Route 154 at 7:49 p.m. Sept. 16. Laughlin said he was not paying attention when the vehicle in front of him stopped to turn left. Laughlin hit the brakes and went left of center but still struck the vehicle, which was driven by Michael J. Cusick.
