Lisbon Police Reports

The alarm at the Ohio Edison substation off East High Street went off several times on the evening of June 12 before Ohio Edison fixed the problem for good.

A resident of East Chestnut Street, reported June 13 that her neighbor keeps mowing her curb lawn and part of her front lawn without permission and is mowing on the lowest possible setting, scalping her lawn. She has been having problems with the neighbor since December, and police said they would speak to him.

Benjamin Mercer, 32, Grant Street, was cited for being in physical control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated after he was found sitting in his vehicle over an embankment at the historic train depot on South Market Street at 1:27 a.m. Saturday. Mercer said he was enroute to pick up his girlfriend at a bar when the accident occurred. His speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol. Mercer later agreed to undergo a breathalyzer test at the state highway patrol barracks, where he registered 0.25. Police found Mercer after a caller reported someone was driving through town erratically.

Michelle L. Wright, 45, state Route 517, Lisbon, was cited for making an improper turn after she pulled from North Vine Street onto East Lincoln Way and struck a vehicle being driven by Elaine D. Seeds, 66, of Bowerston, at 9:49 a.m. Friday.

George Dilling reported Thursday a woman he knows is sending him harassing text messages and making false claims to his employer. He said she also assaulted him at a Youngstown bar, and police said he would have to take that up with Youngstown police.

Ted Todd, West Washington Street, reported Thursday a neighbor’s camper was on his property. Police noted the camper and tent were barely on Todd’s property, but police told the neighbor he would have to get his friends to remove them. Police were called back to the property on Monday in regard to a public urination complaint and found the owner of the tent and camper, who said he was there to move the items after the police chief told him to earlier that day. The man denied urinating in public.

A caller reported some youths were squirting cars on Maple Street at 6:09 p.m. Thursday, but police did not find any juveniles about.

Jonathan McCauley was outside the county EMA building at 6:28 p.m. Thursday when he began complaining about heat exhaustion. An ambulance was called to transport him to a local hospital.

Michael Allman of Coshocton reportedly sideswiped a vehicle driven by Logan Malik in the Valley View parking lot at 2:10 p.m. Monday.

A caller reported two men were drinking beer near the downtown gazebo at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday and were now walking west on West Lincoln Way. Two men matching the description were found walking down the street and were identified as Joseph Frantz and Eric McFarland. Frantz was carrying a 12-pack of Bud Light, while McFarland had an open can of beer in his back pocket. Both were issued warning about drinking in public and told to confine their drinking to their own property.
