Columbiana County Sheriff

Jessica Hoffman, Akron, asked deputies at 4:02 a.m. Thursday to check on her friend, Michael Eckert, who used to live on Westville Lake Road, but she could not locate him. Deputies did some digging and determined he moved recently to Sebring, but is entered as a missing person from that police agency.

A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Damascus area at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday. No truck was found.

Ashley Mattern, Carmel-Achor Road, Rogers, reported at 3:08 p.m. Wednesday her ex-husband’s mother has been harassing her by phone. Deputies called Lori Mattern, who denied the claims. Both were told to stop contacting each other.

Travis Black, Lisbon-Dungannon Road, Lisbon, reported at 10:43 a.m. Wednesday someone dumped the remains from marijuana grows on his property. Deputies found leftover plant stalks in potting soil, leaves and round stones used to hold water in the ditch on Lisbon-Dungannon Road west of Trinity Church Road. Black said he found similar items about three months ago.
