Columbiana County Grand Jury
A Cleveland man with a long list of drug-related charges, including possession of fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl last summer was among the indictments issued by the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury this week. The grand jury issued 16 secret indictments and additional open indictments for 11 people, including the one superseding indictment for Mack D. Griffin, 26, Cleveland.
Griffin is charged with intimidation of a witness in a criminal case, assault and two counts of possession of drugs with a forfeiture specification. On June 15, 2016, Griffin is accused of having acetyl fentanyl and fentanyl with the combined amount equaling or exceeding five times the bulk amount and less than 50 times the bulk amount. Additionally, he allegedly had cocaine and $1,597 believed for use in the commission of a drug-related offense. On Nov. 2, 2016, Griffin was involved in the assault and intimidation of James Cunningham Jr.
Dustin M. Berresford, 30, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, is charged with felonious assault for allegedly seriously harming Joey Lynn Wells Corfee on March 11.
Cody A. Barham, 23, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, is charged with breaking and entering with a firearm specification, theft, carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated menacing. On March 16, Barham allegedly broke into an unoccupied garage of Dawn Whitman and Shawn Sullivan on West Fifth Street, Salem, while in possession of a firearm. He allegedly took a loaded FIE Titan .380 pistol belonging to Sullivan without his consent and concealed it on his person. Barham then allegedly caused Patrolman D. Osberg of the Salem Police Department to believe he or one of his immediate family members would be harmed.
Brandon M. Huff, 22, East Fourth Street, Salem, is charged with breaking and entering for allegedly also going into the unoccupied garage of Whitman and Sullivan on West Fifth Street, Salem, in order to commit a theft offense on March 16.
Angela S. Walsh, 36, LaCroft Avenue, East Liverpool, and Taylor S. Thrasher, 18, Clark Avenue, Wellsville, are each charged with aggravated burglary and assault. Walsh and Thrasher allegedly trespassed into an occupied structure, the home of Vanessa Kidder, Fifth Avenue, East Liverpool, on March 9 while Walsh or Thrasher attempted to or threatened to inflict physical harm on Kidder.
Don C. Talbert Jr., 46, Sugar Street, East Liverpool, is charged with assault, OVI and resisting arrest. Talbert allegedly harmed or attempted to harm Patrolman Rob Smith of the East Liverpool Police Department and interfered with his own arrest, after he was found driving while intoxicated on March 11.
Kasmond P. Parker, 29, Warren, is charged with obstructing official business for allegedly preventing or delaying the performance of Perry Township police officers on March 23.
Lavenia P. Clinkscales, 46, Youngstown, is charged with passing bad checks. On April 15, 2016, allegedly wrote a check on an account at Credit Union One Inc. for a payment of at least $1,000, but less than $7,500.
