Columbiana County Sheriff

Laurie Speelman, Martha Street, East Liverpool, reported at 8:21 p.m. Wednesday her son’s car keys were stolen from a locker at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center in Lisbon.

Logan Roberts, Spillway Road, Lisbon, and her mother Gina, reported Roberts recently moved here from Virginia and owns a pickup which is in good shape. About a month earlier a man came by the home asking if the truck was for sale and was very persistent about wanting to buy it, even through they told him it was not for sale. Three days later he stopped back stating he was ready to pick up the truck. He became upset when they again told him it is not for sale. A few days later, Roberts was driving down North Market Street hill in Lisbon and the brakes went out on the truck. A mechanic told her it appeared the lines had been cut. Three days after the brakes were repaired the engine blew up and the mechanic is reportedly looking for a cause. The man reportedly drives a black Chevy Silverado extended cab with ladder racks and wears a hoodie with a high tension tower logo on it.

Jon Kidder, Depot Road, Lisbon, reported at 4:14 p.m. Wednesday his 12-year-old stepson has been out of control, ripping his bedroom door of the hinges and breaking things. The boy further kicked his stepfather in the stomach and groin area, attempted to hit him in the face and threw broken toys at him. He also tried to strike his stepfather with a hammer. The 12-year-old was charged with domestic violence and fought with deputies who had to carry him out to the patrol car.

A Campbell Road, Hanoverton, woman reported at 7:35 p.m. Thursday her 11-year-old daughter lost her father two years ago and has not been dealing with it well. On Thursday the girl held a pairing knife to her wrists until a grandfather took the knife off of her. She was taken for evaluation.

Jerry Taylor, Lisbon Road, Leetonia, reported at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday he left the house to run some errands around 12:15 p.m. and when he came home at 1 p.m. the door was standing open. Two TVs were missing along with four NEO digital storage units.

Peggy Byard, Peace Valley Road, Rogers, reported at 1:01 a.m. Saturday something elongated and smelly was burning in her driveway. She later identified it as a burning piece of pine.
