Wellsville Police Reports
Police were called around 3 p.m. Friday to 18th Street and Clark Avenue near Gibby’s Mini Mart for a possible fight between a man and a woman. Officers made contact with Amanda Wright, 23, Independence Square, who said she and Andrew Hunley, 40, last known to be from West Ninth Street, East Liverpool, were walking east on 18th Street when a package of soda pop ripped open. Wright said Hunley got angry about this, causing him to grab hold of her right arm where after he started shaking her, her grocery bag from Gibby’s ripped open. An officer noticed a red hand impression on Wright’s right arm. A cashier from Gibby’s heard Wright screaming and contacted police as Hunley shook Wright. A driver of a passing car on 18th Street also witnessed the incident. Statements were given to the witnesses to fill out.
Police were called around 8:22 p.m. Friday to the Family Dollar regarding damage to a vehicle. Officers spoke with Nellie Allison, who said she was driving her 2000 Cadillac Deville on the 1200 block of Commerce Street when she and her husband heard an unknown object hit the passenger side of the car. She told police she and her husband weren’t sure if something had been thrown at the vehicle or not. Visible damaged to the mirror was noted by officers along with a hole and a broken mirror.
