Columbiana County Sheriff

Deputies went to the home of Jacob Allan Charles Carter, 18, Buck Road, Beloit, with an arrest warrant at 11:55 p.m. Friday. At first his mother said she did not want to talk to deputies, but after being reminded she would be charged if she hides her son, she told them he was hiding in a closet. Deputies yelled for him to come out and pulled a taser. He came out yelling and screaming, pulled away from deputies, tried to run and kicked the back passenger door three times after he was placed in the cruiser. His family was also yelling at deputies during the arrest. On the way to the county jail, Carter reportedly calmed down and apologized to the deputy. He is now charged with resisting arrest and criminal damaging.

Katie Hartsough, state Route 344, Leetonia, reported at 1:49 a.m. Sunday motion lights were going on and off. Deputies found several deer in the yard, which were believed responsible for activating the sensors.
