A Dec. 6 preliminary hearing was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for Michael Betts Jr., 35, New Castle, Pa., charged with possession of a deadly weapon while under detention. Betts allegedly was found with a loaded .45 caliber gun in the glovebox, marijuana shake throughout the vehicle and a bag of marijuana under the driver’s seat during a search by K-9 Simon on Monday.
A Dec. 6 preliminary hearing was set for Joshua P. Andrews, 26, North Walnut Street, East Palestine, charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into the back door of a home on Lyons Avenue on Nov. 1 after being told earlier in the day by a resident of the home, Logan Winters, he was not permitted to be there.
Patrick Haney, 25, Cleveland Street, Salem, was fined $700, had his license suspended for 180 days, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 30 hours community service for OVI first offense and a lane violation.
Charges of OVI first offense, possession of drugs, possession of instruments to ingest/inhale controlled substance, improper or expired registration and failure to control against Jacob T. Chamberlain, 18, Bacon Road, East Palestine, were dismissed due to him being indicted on several felony charges by the grand jury in November.
William M. Alesi III, 32, Aetna Street, Salem, was fined $200, required 30 hours community service, credited with 10 days served in jail and sentenced to an additional 10 days in jail for possession of a drug abuse instrument for three hypodermic needles inside his jacket pocket.
Jessica McDade, 31, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, was fined $305, required to attend a three-day counseling program and ordered 30 hours community service for failure to control, a seat belt violation and reckless operation amended from OVI first offense.
Derrick Salsberry, 34, West Main Street, Salineville, was fined $150, sentenced to eight days in jail, had his license suspended for 180 days and required 50 hours community service for possession of drug abuse instruments.
Joshua D. Vishak, 41, Y Camp Road, Lisbon, was fined $150 and required 25 hours community service for criminal damaging for grabbing and breaking Tera Willoughby’s phone on Aug. 27.
Matthew Foster, 40, Justison Road, East Palestine, was fined $150 and credited with two days in jail for criminal trespassing for allegedly going to the home of Elizabeth Devan and refusing to leave after already being warned against such activity on Nov. 17.
Kimberly S. Donohue, 43, West Maryland Avenue, Sebring, was fined $100 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension.
Steven E. Cunningham, 26, Sixth Street, Wellsville, was fined $100 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension.
Taylor Laine West, 19, Sherman Street, Lisbon, was fined $130 and required 10 hours community service for driving under suspension and speeding
Edward A. Bolin, 36, Water Street, Salineville, was fined $100 and required 10 hours community service for driving under suspension and exhaust.
A Dec. 5 pretrial was set for Vickie A. Waite, 56, state Route 154, Lisbon, charged with assault for allegedly attempting to strangle Brenda Vargo with a belt from a bath robe on Nov. 25.
A Dec. 15 pretrial was set for David W. Merriman, 49, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly telling deputies Sherry Davis was not at his home, where she is not permitted to be following pending domestic violence charges. Davis was found to be there.
A Dec. 20 pretrial was set for Demetrius J. Pullie, 19, Thomas Road, Lisbon, charged with drug abuse for allegedly having marijuana on Friday.
A Jan. 5 pretrial was set for Goitom H. Woldeyohanes, 25, Clarkston, Ga., cited with regulation of semis.
A Jan. 5 pretrial was set for Justin J. Novak, 35, Columbia Street, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking his girlfriend Tonya Lamp in the face on Sunday.
A Jan. 10 pretrial was set for Andrea L. Yeaton, 51, Youngstown, charged with aggravated trespassing for allegedly kicking the back door, attempting to open the windows and attempting to pry open a door knob with a hot dog stick at a home on state Route 344, Leetonia, on Nov. 23.
A Jan. 16 pretrial was set for Ashley Van Russell, 28, Madison Street, Leetonia, cited with driving under suspension.
A Jan. 19 pretrial was set for Austin C. Needham, 23, West Main Street, Salineville, charged with domestic violence for allegedly grabbing Taylor Steeves, slamming her against a dresser, dragging her around by her hair, punching her, slamming her head into a truck window and throwing a coffee table which struck her in the ribs on Nov. 17 and Nov. 18.
A Jan. 24 pretrial was set for Ricardo Gonzalez, 55, Ruth Street, East Liverpool, cited with OVI first offense and restricted tinted glass.
A Jan. 24 pretrial was set for Caroline V. Rhodes, 19, North Market Street, East Palestine, charged with domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing official business for allegedly threatening family members and refusing to cooperate with police investigating the incident on Nov. 24.
Richard M. Cox, 34, Shady Lane, Salem, was fined $280 for driving under suspension and a seat belt violation.
