Couple arrested following DTF raid

GLASGOW – A Madison Township couple were arrested on non-drug-related charges Wednesday after a raid by the county drug task force.

The task couple, assisted by the county sheriff’s office and U.S. marshals, served a search warrant at 15838 Johnson Road, the residence of Michael and Michelle Byers and Melissa Delauder.

Lt. Brian McLaughlin, director of the DTF, said agents found more than 60 grams of crack cocaine, more than eight grams of heroin, three firearms, digital scales with residue of drugs, more than $3,000 and packaging material.

Total street value of the crack and heroin is $7,500, McLaughlin said.

Michelle Byers, 34, was arrested for having weapons under a disability, a third-degree felony.

Michael Byers, 31, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the sheriff’s office on a rape charge, a first-degree felony.

Wednesday’s raid followed a month-long investigation.

Additional charges are pending on multiple people as the investigation continues, McLaughlin said.
