Highway Patrol reports for 6-2
Richard C. Rollison, 57, Warren, was traveling south on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday when he struck a deer, then drove off the right side of the road, struck a guard rail, a utility pole and two trees before coming to rest. Rollison was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Bobbie Jo Hall, 21, Canton, was headed northeast on U.S. Route 30 in West Township at 4:48 p.m. Thursday when she rear-ended Samantha A. Lambert, 20, West Lincoln Way. Minerva, who had slowed down due to stopped traffic. Hall was cited for assured clear distance.
David J. Bandy, 17, state Route 170, East Palestine, was driving east on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 3:48 p.m. Friday when he rear-ended Misti J. Martin, 38, East Main Street, East Palestine, who stopped for traffic. Bandy was cited for assured clear distance. Bandy’s passenger, Chase Bandy, 12, was treated by East Palestine EMS at the scene.
Kristopher J. Branch, 25, New Garden Avenue, Salem, was heading east on state Route 344 in Perry Township at 5:05 p.m. Thursday when he drove off the left side of the road and hit a utility pole. Branch was cited for failure to control.
Walter G. Simpson Jr., 63, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was traveling west on Georgetown Road in Butler Township at 8:15 p.m. Friday when he hit a deer.
Paul M. Welsh, 39, state Route 644, Salineville, was traveling west on state Route 39 at 12:30 p.m. May 25 when he sideswiped Wendy J. Greathouse, 40, Water Street, Salineville, who was traveling in the opposite direction. The Case 970 Agri King tractor Welsh operated was pulling a corn picker, which was 16-foot-9 wide, three feet wider than the roadway.
Jesse M. Brown, 35, West Pine Lake Road, Salem, was heading east on U.S. Route 62 in Butler Township at 7:50 a.m. Thursday and was slowing down for traffic when he was rear-ended by Abigail W. Wemhoff, 20, Kent. Wemhoff was cited for assured clear distance.
Rory T. Warnock, 51, Geneva, and William Smith, 79, Niles, were eastbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 4 p.m. Monday and Smith stopped for traffic and was struck by Warnock, who continued off the right side on his motorcycle. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with serious injuries. No citations were issued.
Douglas J. Haus, 35, Youngstown, and Steven L. Yoder, 56, Homeworth, were eastbound on Carey Road in Butler Township at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday and Haus came to a stop and was struck by Yoder. Yoder was cited for assured clear distance.
Paul M. Welsh, 39, state Route 644, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 12:30 p.m. Sunday and sideswiped Wendy J. Greathouse, 40, Water Street, Salineville, who was eastbound.
