East Liverpool Police Reports for 6-27

Margie Shafer, Lisbon Street, reported her home entered and items taken.

Terry L. Sprague, East Fifth Street, returned home to find her back yard gate unsecured and a small tree in the yard broken off.

Daniel L. Simms, reported aluminum scrap stolen from a residence he owns on Green Lane.

April L. West, Allison Avenue, reported she had a video of a woman slashing the tire on a vehicle owned by another person. Officers said the woman’s face was not visible in the video.

Jada Pack, Erie Street, reported a brick thrown through a window of her residence.

Jessica Allen, West Seventh Street, reported she was away several days and returned home to find her television and her son’s Wii missing. An xBox had been placed into a garbage bag but left behind, as were the controllers to the Wii system. Entry appeared to have been made through a window.

Officers saw a man leaning into a car, speaking to the occupants Wednesday afternoon and told him to stay where he was but he reportedly took off running. He tripped and fell, but kept reaching into his waistband after being ordered to show his hands, according to reports. He again tried to run and officers deployed a Taser, allowing him to be apprehended. Matthew K. Goatley, 24, Industry, Pa., was charged with resisting arrest and officers reported a bag of suspected crack cocaine and pills were found in his pants pocket. Additional charges could be filed once lab results are received.
