East Liverpool Police Reports for 6-23
Officers checked four people in a parked vehicle in the New Dimension Bar parking lot Friday night and one of the men, Devante Rashad Moody, 24, Ohio Avenue, reportedly insisted his name was something else. He was taken to the police station, but no active warrants were found. When asked why he lied about his name, Moody reportedly told officers he was afraid. He was charged with falsification. The driver of the vehicle, Carly Maltarich, 25, Westerville, was found with a small amount of marijuana in her purse and gave it to officers, when asked if there were any drugs in the vehicle, according to reports. She was charged with possession of marijuana.
Officers were called early Saturday morning to Lisbon Street where a Liverpool Township officer had a car pulled over with several mailboxes on the ground and the post uprooted. According to township officer Jarod Kinemond, he was behind the vehicle northbound when it swerved to the other side of the roadway, nearly hitting a parked vehicle. As he initiated a traffic stop of the vehicle, it struck the mailboxes, and the passenger, Jayce A. Lucas, 23, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, reportedly threw two bottles of beer out the window. He was cited by city police with open container in a motor vehicle, while the driver, Jennifer L. Hill, 32, 9th Avenue, was charged with OVI, failure to control and illegal plates.
