Highway Patrol Reports for 5-15

Michael V. Ball, 28, North Market Street, Minerva, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 2:49 a.m. Monday and went left of center off the left side into a utility pole and a fence. He was cited for failure to control, seat belt, obstructing official business and open container.

James L. Amos, 83, Canton, was westbound on Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 5:35 p.m. May 9. Tanner F. Bowers, 16, Georgetown Road, Homeworth, pulled from a private drive eastbound onto Georgetown Road and lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle, which went left of center into Amos. Bowers was cited for failure to control and sustained minor injuries but was not transported.

Samantha M. Bottegal, 26, Steubenville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 9:34 p.m. Saturday and went off the left side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

David T. Hill, 48, Alliance, was stopped at a traffic signal northbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 11:35 p.m. Saturday and said he continued through a green light when he was struck by Jason A. Pahanish, 38, Whinnery Road, Winona, who was turning left. No citations were issued.

William P. Osbourne, 63, Elkton Road, Lisbon, was southbound on Fairfield School Road in Elkton Township at 1:45 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

Kimberly Russo, 49, North Bloomfield, Ohio, was southbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 9:39 a.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

Daniel Rhodes, 50, Prospect Street, Salem, and Gregory A. Dunlap, 51, Winona Road, Salem, were eastbound on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 2:48 p.m. Sunday and Jack A. Miller, 54, Alliance, was waiting to turn left onto U.S. 62 from a gas station when Rhodes struck Dunlap as Dunlap was turning right into the gas station. Dunlap then continued on and struck Miller’s vehicle. Rhodes was cited for assured clear distance. Dunlap and his passenger, John D. Dunlap, 58, Alliance, were taken to Alliance Hospital with minor injuries.

Cash D. Ritchie, 21, Ocala, Florida, and Georgiana H. Allison, 23, Chester, W.Va., were northbound on state Route 45 in Madison Township at 11 a.m. Monday. Allison turned left onto Old Route 45 and was struck by Ritchie. Ritchie was cited for assured clear distance and Allison’s passengers, Bonnie Allison, 52, Newell, W.Va., and Shirley A. Tinkey, 72, Crawford Road, Wellsville, were taken to East Liverpool Hospital with minor injuries.

Athony Isue, 35, Macedonia, Ohio, was southwestbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday and hit a deer. He was taken to Salem Hospital with minor injuries.
