Columbiana County Sheriff Reports for 5-8

Deputies found an alarm sounding at the Beaver Local High School at 12:34 a.m. Tuesday, but the building was found to be secure.

Tina Gailey, Riffle Road, Rogers, reported at 11:15 p.m. Monday she and her husband argued, but there was no physical violence.

James Franko, state Route 558, Leetonia, reported Tuesday morning he had been driving a rental car on April 30 and stopped for breakfast at 6 a.m. at the Shoney’s in Dover. He has a concealed carry permit and had a Smith and Wesson PG38 revolver in a case in the glove box of the rental car. While at breakfast he got a call about an emergency back home, went out to his car and saw a man lurking around the rental vehicle. He drove straight home. After returning home he noticed his gun missing from the glove box.

Salineville Police Chief Andrew Straley reported at 1:47 p.m. Monday there had been a burglary at a home owned by Douglas and Robert Borland on Oak Grove Road. The brothers live in Florida and were in Ohio to visit relatives. They checked the home they own and found a machine shed had been entered and a radiator taken from a tractor. The house was entered by someone breaking out a bathroom window. Someone had rummaged through the drawers, but nothing appeared missing.

Sam Landsberger, Padgett Road, East Palestine, reported at 9 p.m. Tuesday he is involved in a civil issue with Beth Jackson and claims she threatened him by stating the next time he comes to the home he would not leave.

A White Road, East Liverpool, man reported at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday he came home at about 4:35 p.m. and found his girlfriend in bed deceased. The coroner was called.
