Columbiana County Common Pleas for 5-6

James D. Heath, 21, Dyke Road, Rogers, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to breaking and entering. He faces up to 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine.

On Jan. 6, 2013 Heath went into the BP Unimart on Dresden Avenue, East Liverpool along with Scott Chaffee. The back window of the business was broken out and several packs of cigarettes, energy drinks and lottery tickets were taken.

A police report indicated two East Liverpool patrolmen followed the tracks out of the store toward Milligan’s where some of the stolen items were recovered along with a mask believed to have been worn by either Heath or Chaffee. A boat anchor was found, which was believed to be the item used to break the glass door to the business. Some items were found thrown onto the hardware store’s roof.

Sentencing for Heath is set for July 14.

Chaffee, 20, College Street, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty last year to breaking and entering for his involvement in the crime and is currently on a four-year intervention in lieu of conviction program.

Constance E. Adams, 24, Creek Road, New Waterford, pleaded guilty to theft for failing to return credit card to the customer at the end of a transaction while working at Gorby’s Grocery in East Palestine. Adams then used the card to make several purchases between Oct. 5 and 7. She faces up to 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine. Sentencing is set for June 26.
