Highway Patrol Reports for 4-16
When stopped Sunday morning for driving left of center on state Route 267 in St. Clair Township, Gene C. Taylor, 69, Fairway Road, reportedly told the trooper he had two weapons in his truck. The trooper found behind the passenger seat a loaded .45-caliber black powder handgun and a .410-gauge shotgun. Taylor was charged with OVI, left of center, no seat belt and improper handling of a firearm.
Stephen D. Sutter, 39, Sprucevale Court, East Liverpool, was southbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 5:30 p.m. Monday and hit a turkey.
Charles Butcher, 49, Woodvale Road, Leetonia, was southeastbound on Trinity Church Road in Center Township at 5 a.m. Saturday and went off the south side into a tree. He was cited for failure to control.
Danielle L. Heckathorn, 27, state Route 164, Lisbon, was northbound on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 4:50 p.m. March 31 and Karen S. Desellem, 66, Lisbon Drive, Leetonia, failed to yield from a stop sign on Lodge Road and was struck by Heckathorn, who went off the right side into a utility pole while Desellem went off the left side into a ditch. Both were taken to Salem hospital with minor injuries. No citations were issued.
Roy W. Foley, 55, state Route 170, East Palestine, was northbound on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township at 2 p.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch and embankment. He was cited for failure to control.
Philip A. Crouse, 69, Lower Elkton Road, Columbiana, was northbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 2:15 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a shallow ditch and a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control and OVI.
Mecit Bicer, 52, East Washington Street, Lisbon, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 3:55 p.m. Sunday and was struck by Donna K. Ferguson, 76, state Route 164, Lisbon, who failed to yield from a stop sign on Salem Grange Road. Ferguson was cited for stop sign.
