Columbiana County Municipal Court for 4-4

An April 10 preliminary hearing was set in Columbiana County Municipal Court for John Plavka, Homeworth Road, Alliance, charged with a felony domestic violence. Plavka is accused of punching Sarah Wutrick in the head and face while driving her vehicle on Speidel Road and again on her property when she told him she did not want him to take her car on March 23. Deputies believe he also was previously convicted of domestic violence in Stark County Municipal Court in a 2009 case.

Heath A. Broadbent, 29, state Route 7, Columbiana, was bound over to the county grand jury on a charge of trafficking in drugs for allegedly having packages of marijuana divided for sale, scales, three cell phones, drug paraphernalia and baggies in his vehicle during a traffic stop in New Waterford on Feb. 2.

An April 7 preliminary hearing was set for Paula J. McFarland, 35, Teegarden Road, Salem, charged with theft for allegedly leaving WalMart in Salem with $1,538 in items in the shopping cart, leaving the cart behind when confronted in the parking lot and still leaving with a stolen headlight bulb for an automobile and a cell phone concealed in a purse or in her clothes.

Joseph P. Desalvo Jr., 37, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $1,275, had his license suspended for two years and was sentenced to 210 days in jail for OVI second offense, turn signal violation and drug paraphernalia for a glass pipe with residue in the metal filter on Feb. 27.

Jeramey L. Loving, 24, Webb Avenue, Alliance, was fined $1,000 and required 28 hours community service for four counts of deer tag violations and two additional deer violations. Additionally, he was ordered to exercise no hunting privileges until April 2015. The citations dealt with hunting on another’s property without a deer permit and tagging deer in another person’s name. Three additional similar counts were dismissed.

Johnny E. Loving, 74, Webb Avenue, Alliance, was fined $200 for two deer tag violations.

Joey N. Lafleme, 22, East Third Street, Salem, was fined $525, had his license suspended for 180 days and required three days in counseling for physical control and failure to yield.

Dishelle T. Carchide, 20, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, was fined $400 and required to attend the STEP program for underage consumption.

Richard Brewer II, 36, Parkview Drive, Hanoverton, was fined $275 and required 25 hours community service for driving under suspension and speeding.

Amy Milliken, 41, Whinnery Road, Salem, was fined $250 and required 25 hours community service for wrongful entrustment.

Jaymelyn Williams, 24, Girard, was fined $250 and required 50 hours community service for attempted theft for $100 discovered missing during a jewelry party at a family member’s home in April 2010.

Angel M. Phillips, 37, West Pershing Street, Salem, was fined $200 for failure to reinstate a license.

George D. Anderson, 18, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, was fined $180 for a seat belt violation and no license amended from driving under suspension.

Joshua S. Lyle, 26, Louisville, was fined $150 for lighted lights required amended from speeding.

Dakota S. Swearengin, 21, Henryetta, Okla., was fined $150 for disorderly conduct amended from criminal damaging for damage to the Traveler’s Motel while Swearengin was intoxicated on March 16.

Susan G. Mountain, 52, Lake Milton, was fined $100 for speeding.

An April 10 pretrial was set for Barry S. Rummel, 50, North Pleasant Drive, East Palestine, charged with obstructing official business for allegedly refusing to get out of a police cruiser and refused to answer question, identify himself or sign any documents on Dec. 20.

An April 24 pretrial was set for Joey L. Cruz, 35, Campbell, cited with violating a temporary protection order for allegedly contacting Adam Sienerth twice by phone after a protection order was served.

An April 28 pretrial was set for Carrie A. Malone, 31, West Fifth Street, Salem, cited with driving without a valid license.
