Highway Patrol for 3-15
Charges are pending against David L. Valiquette, 47, of New Springfield, who wrecked while driving on state Route 558 at state Route 46 in Unity Township at 10:39 p.m. Tuesday. Valiquette’s pickup truck ended up on its roof in a creek and he was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released. Valiquette told investigators he drank two beers and two rums and Sierra Mist prior to the accident.
Patrick D. Keenan, 39, of Toronto, struck a deer while driving on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 7:12 a.m. Tuesday.
Robert J. Smith II, 28, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, was cited for OVI and failure to control after he went off the road and struck some trees while driving on Cream Ridge Road in Elkrun Township at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday. Smith left the scene but returned an hour later and said he swerved to miss a deer. The trooper said Smith had a noticeable odor of alcohol but denied being drunk, although he said it may seem that way. Smith was cited after the trooper received the results of a blood test.
