Drugs found in EP home

EAST PALESTINE – Prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in a home on East Martin Street, which was searched on Friday by members of the Columbiana County Drug Task Force assisted by the East Palestine Police Department and County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Detective Lt. Brian McLaughlin, director of the county DTF, the search warrant for the home of Joseph Parker and Melinda McCready was obtained after a three-month-long investigation. Once inside the home, authorities located numerous drug paraphernalia items, digital scales, oxycodone, eight cellular phones and a small amount of cash.

Charges are pending and the matter remains under investigation.

McLaughlin noted since East Palestine began participating in the county drug task force in May 2013, there have been 12 people indicted for felony level, drug-related crimes; two search warrants issued; five consent searches conducted and one person busted during a buy from an undercover agent.
