Columbiana County Sheriff Reports for 3-21
Seth Perfetto, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, reported at 2:57 p.m. Saturday he has been staying with his in-laws and while he was downstairs with his children, the children’s mother, Brittany Perfetto, came down and took them. He then told her he does not want the children around her new boyfriend. She reportedly scratched him and broke his necklace. Deputies explained that because they are still married she also has rights to the children. Both declined to pursue charges.
Jacob Miles, Seventh Avenue, East Liverpool, reported at 10 a.m. Sunday his mother has been texting him and will not leave him alone. They also have a joint bank account. Deputies called the mother, who said her son has been calling her.
Michael Mellinger, Jersey Ridge Road, Leetonia, reported at 12:46 a.m. Saturday three people were pounding on his door. When he opened it, they entered the house and two assaulted him in his bedroom. His mother, Margaret Mellinger, was in the front room and also yelled for help. His 16-year-old son went downstairs and removed one man who was punching Michael Mellinger in the ribs while he had him pinned. Another man grabbed the 16-year-old and attempted to pin him down, but he broke free and again went after the man assaulting Michael Mellinger. The man punched the son in the face. Both left the home, along with a third person the residents were unable identify. Both Michael Mellinger and his son declined medical treatment.
Traveler’s Motel, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 12:02 a.m. Saturday Dakota Swearengin of Oklahoma became heavily intoxicated and began fighting with William Garren of Missouri. Eventually several people got Swearengin out of the room, but then he kicked the door in and smashed the front windows. Swearengin, 21, was found at the Frolla Motel and charged with criminal damaging.
Donna Stewart, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 9:34 p.m. Sunday there was suspicious activity, including someone with a flashlight at a neighboring property. Deputies checked the area and found everything secure.
Daniel Brooks, Lisbon Street, Hanoverton, reported at 9:10 p.m. Sunday he texted his ex and received a text message from a man threatening to beat him up.
Julie Burt, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 5:36 p.m. Sunday she came hum and found her ex-husband, Tadley Burt, in her home. She has a protection order against him. Tadley Burt was taken to the county jail on a violating a protection order charge.
