Columbiana County Sheriff Reports for 3-18

James Smith, Macklin Road, New Waterford, reported at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday in mid February Pay Pal/GE Capital contacted him regarding a $3,000 camera on his account. Shortly thereafter he began receiving letters from other bank institutions about someone attempting to open accounts in his name looking for some critical information to complete the accounts. The letters came from Citizen Bank, Virginia Capital Retail Bank, Capital One Bank, Barclay Card and Chase Bank. Smith reported he did not attempt to open any of the accounts, nor did he purchase or receive a camera. The delivery address for the camera was in Sedalia, Mo.

Laurie Kemats, East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, reported at 5:29 p.m. Friday people riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers around Pleasantview Drive in Center Township. A deputy did not observe any riding taking place.

Martha Powers, North Market Street, East Palestine, reported at 1 p.m. Friday her husband received a letter and check in the mail from the Standard Trust Financial Service, which was determined by their bank to be a scam.

Michael A. Noble, Union Street, Washingtonville, was arrested and taken to Columbiana County Jail for disorderly conduct after Julia Bennett reported at 10:13 p.m. Saturday he was very intoxicated and wanted him removed from the property and he would not cooperate.

John Doss, state Route 14, Columbiana, reported at 5:14 p.m. Friday two batteries were stolen from his 1976 Ford F-800 bucket truck.

William Long, Globe Street, East Liverpool, reported at 4:27 p.m. Friday several items were taken from his camper at the Wildwood Acres Campground.
