Columbiana County Sheriff Reports 3-6
Edward Jones, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 5:25 p.m. Saturday his estranged wife was sending him harassing text messages, claiming she was coming to his home to get their children. Deputies called the estranged wife and warned her.
Shawn Bratt, Hammond School Road, Wellsville, reported at 3:50 p.m. Saturday he found a small hole in the side of his swimming pool and his neighbor reported hearing what sounded like gunshots early in the morning.
John Thomas, Foundry Hill, Hanoverton, reported at 10:55 p.m. Monday there were suspicious vehicles on his property. He believed there were 15 vehicles in his front yard making a lot of noise. Deputies went out but could not find any vehicles, no tire tracks and no footprints.
Judy Circle, Case Road, Beloit, reported at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday a truck had been sitting at a nearby oil site since 11 p.m. Monday with the engine running, but she had not seen anyone around. Deputies checked and found a man sleeping in the truck. He said he was fine and just waiting for a generator to burn off its remaining fuel.
Margie Decker, Hartley Road, Homeworth, reported a domestic dispute at 7:03 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies were met outside by Elmer Decker, who reported his 10-year-old daughter refused to leave the bedroom after he got out of the shower so he could get dressed for work. He told her he was taking her cell phone as punishment and an argument began with his wife. He tried to walk past his wife and she fell on the bed, then rolled onto the floor. His wife, Margaret, had no visible injuries, but said she planned to get a protection order. Mr. Decker decided to stay at a hotel for the night.
