Columbiana County Municipal Court for 3-15

In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Thursday, a March 20 preliminary hearing was set for Michelle L. Settles, 52, Canton, charged with theft for allegedly going to Salem WalMart with two co-defendants and the three leaving the store with a combined $1,420 in stolen merchandise.

A charge of violating a temporary protection order against Dustin R. Foley, 34, East Main Street, East Palestine, was dismissed with the intent of refiling it as a felony. A March 20 pretrial was set for Foley on a resisting arrest charge.

A March 17 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for David J. Trimble, 25, Lisbon Street, Hanoverton, charged with a felony possession of drugs for suspected oxymorphone hydrochloride, possession of marijuana and possession of instruments to ingest or inhale a controlled substance.

Macy N. Gibbs, 21, Bank Street, Toronto, was fined $700, had his license suspended for six months, required 30 hours community service and sentenced to three days in counseling for OVI first offense and improper registration. Charges of open container and a turn signal violation were dismissed.

Joshua Rowland, 30, South Market Street, East Palestine, was fined $650, required three days in counseling, had his license suspended for 180 days and required 50 hours community service for OVI first offense, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and a turn signal violation. Rowland had two rifles and a 25-caliber semi-automatic handgun, all unloaded, but within reach in the vehicle.

Griffen B. Wallick, 61, New Philadelphia, had a passing bad check felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor passing bad checks. He was fined $100 and credited with one day served.

A March 20 pretrial was set for Donald L. Russell, 47, Pioneer Street, Hammondsville, charged with assault and criminal mischief for allegedly breaking three windows on the front and one side of a home on Hibbetts Mill Road, Wellsville on Sept. 13, 2012. On the same date, he is accused of throwing Clara Allgood around that home.

An April 7 pretrial was set for John R. Mohr, 29, West Fifth Street, Salem, cited with two counts of possession of drugs for suboxone and klonopin allegedly in his possession when he had no prescription on Jan. 22.

An April 14 pretrial was set for Brian S. Amon, 43, Circle Drive, Alliance, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking a 14-year-old in the face by throwing a water bottle on Feb. 5.

An April 14 pretrial was set for Gale E. Allen, 44, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, cited with OVI first offense and improper registration.

An April 15 pretrial was set for Jacob A. Gray, 25, Jones Drive, Salem, cited with possesion of drugs for allegedly having one Lorazepam pill under his seat on Jan. 16.

An April 15 pretrial was set for Larry D. Hall, 64, Depot Road, Lisbon, charged with aggravated menacing for allegedly threatening to smash the skull of Kimberly A. Godwin over the phone, while police and others were listening on speaker phone.
