Lisbon Police Reports for 2-24

David Todd, East Lincoln Way, reported Feb. 4 being assaulted by his girlfriend, Amber Possage, and Homer Carnes. Todd, who was extremely drunk, was told to come in the next day when he was sober to file a report. While there, Possage showed up and she said Todd entered Carnes’ apartment and shoved him against a bookcase, so Carnes wrestled Todd to the ground and began hitting him. Possage said her only involvement was trying to break up the fight.

A caller reported there was a suspicious person in the Sunset Drive area at 4:15 p.m. Feb. 3, but the police did not come across any such person.

Rachel Eason, Grant Street, reported being involved in a minor traffic accident with Stacey Catlett on South Market Street on Jan. 31. Catlett reportedly drove into the rear of Eason’s vehicle.

Clarence B. Knotts of Canton was stopped at a red light on West Lincoln Way on Jan. 23 when he was struck in the rear by vehicle driven by Timothy R. White of Hubbard.

Marie Shinn, West Washington Street, reported a domestic dispute at 4 p.m. Monday. Police spoke with Taylor Merriman, who said she and her live-in boyfriend had an argument during which she broke the TV and he broke a door window. Shinn, who is Merriman’s mother, wanted something done about the window, but the officer told her this was an issue for the landlord since the boyfriend also lives there.

Megan Morrow, Maple Street, reported at 10:23 p.m. Feb. 13 someone came on her porch and tried to open the door. Police arrived but did not find any prowler.

Wayne Smith reported Tuesday he was moving out of his apartment on West Chestnut Street and landlord Nicole Hilton was giving him a hard time. Meanwhile, Hilton called the police department to say that Smith and his friend were taking too long to move him out. An officer arrived and stood by until Smith was done. Smith had called the day before to say he was being evicted and that Hilton had changed the locks. He was given a ride to spend the night at a friend’s apartment.

Thomas A. Faulkner, 50, of Rayland, was cited for assured cleared distance after he drove into the rear of a vehicle driven by John W. Barnett, 55, Pine Hollow Road, Rogers, who had stopped on state Route 154 while trying to pull into the BP station at 5:44 p.m. Monday.

Kristan Jones, St. Jacob-Logtown Road, Leetonia, reported Monday that while her vehicle was parked on East Chestnut Street it was struck by someone driving a dark blue van who kept going. The license plate came back to Michael Robinson of East Palestine, who said Steve B. Amos is now the vehicle owner. Amos, of East Palestine, admitted being involved in the accident but thought the mirrors had just touched.

While on patrol at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday an officer found Harry Hawkins from Akron sleeping on the floor just inside the front door of the post office. Hawkins said he waiting until the post office opened to get directions back to Akron. Hawkins was sent on his way and told not to be staying anywhere else that is closed.

Dominic Florea, 18, Hartley Road, Alliance, was charged Wednesday with criminal damaging after admitting cutting two tires on a vehicle belonging to Hayden Gostey on Feb. 16.

Police were called to the area of state Route 45 at 5:49 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a vehicle that went off the road near Lisbon Auto. The officer stood by while Baker’s towing removed the vehicle. The car and Lisbon Auto property were not damaged.

Police were called to the area of state Route 45 near McDonald’s at 6 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a vehicle that went off the road into a ditch. Police checked the area but did not see the vehicle.

Police were called to the area of state Route 45 at 11:19 a.m. Thursday for a possible drunk driver, but could not find the vehicle described.
