East Liverpool Police Reports 2-11

Officers were called Sunday to Green Lane for someone trespassing in a residence and saw two people running from the front to the back of the house. An officer ran to the back and saw through the window a man and woman hiding in the corner of the kitchen, after which he entered through the front. Inside, the officer reported speaking with David J. Jackson, 48, North Market Street, who said he was helping a friend move. However, the tenant and homeowner both said no one was to be inside the home. Jackson was charged with burglary. The woman was not charged, according to reports.

Called Saturday night to Ohio Avenue for a possible fight involving a gun, officers reported finding Kristy L. Steed, 42, no address listed, in the street, yelling that she had been beaten up by a man and woman who were walking away on Ohio Avenue. Officers caught up to the pair and detained them. A witness reported that she had driven the man, Lamar Coles, 22, no address listed, and Taylor Adkins, 19, Anderson Avenue, Wellsville, from Mountaineer Race Track to the East End of the city, where Coles told her to stop outside the Ohio Avenue residence. There, she said, Coles began arguing with Steed and another man, gesturing as though he had a gun underneath his shirt. She told police that Adkins jumped from the car and attacked Steed, who was also pushed by Coles. Both Coles and Adkins were charged with assault.

A caller reported a man falling in the middle of the street and crawling back to the sidewalk, after which Patrick L. Hagerty Jr., 29, West Seventh Street, reportedly came to the police department and told officers to arrest him because he was drunk. Family members in the meantime had called police to say Hagerty had been threatening to harm himself, but he denied wanting to harm himself, saying he just wanted to go to jail. He was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to county jail.
