East Liverpool Police for 2-18

An officer reported hearing a vehicle on Grant Street Sunday evening with a loud exhaust and he turned to follow it. The vehicle reportedly turned the wrong way on a one-way street and was stopped. Driver Kirk Roberts, 27, Fairview Road, Chester, W.Va., reportedly told the officer he was trying to get away from the officer because he did not have a valid driver’s license. Asked if there was anything illegal in the car, Roberts reportedly said there was, and an inventory of the car turned up four syringes and two burned spoons. Roberts was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, no operator’s license, loud exhaust and a one-way street violation.

Derek S. Plunkett, 20, Garner Avenue, was charged Monday with willful wanton disregard for safety after an officer reported he admitted driving recklessly on Eutaw Avenue in a reckless manner due to the snow-covered roadway. Plunkett reportedly decided to fishtail on the snow, and his vehicle went out of control, striking a parked vehicle, whose owner was not identified in reports.

The manager of Dollar General reported a man came in, purchased a 12-pack of beer and left. He returned, saying he meant to buy a different brand and wanted to exchange the beer but when told all food sales are final, became irate, cussing at the manager. Officers responded and told the man all sales are final.

Randy Cook, St. Clair Avenue, reported a person known entered his home and took a television, DVD player and DVDs and a washer/dryer set. The man left a note with his name and phone number, telling Cook to call him in order to collect his belongings.

Louie D’Angelo, a Municipal Court employee, reported losing his deputy bailiff badge somewhere between East Liverpool and Wellsville.

Employees of Giant Eagle reported two people using food stamp cards to purchase large amounts of pop. The matter is under investigation.

A woman was walking on Bradshaw Avenue when a white man driving a gray-colored Kia pulled up and made sexual comments, also offering to pay her $20 for a sexual act. When she refused, the man told her, “It never hurts to ask,” and then asked again after she walked away and he pulled up to her again.

Shannon M. Johnson, no address listed, reported two women she knows jumped her, punching and kicking her for unknown reasons. She had visible injuries to her face and neck, according to reports.
