East Liverpool Police for 2-13

Called Wednesday morning to the Salvation Army to remove someone, officers reported several employees as well as Jerry L. Mimna, 63, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, acted as though there had been a mistake and that the police had not been called. Major Doug McGuire came from his office and told officers he had called and wanted Mimna removed due to him causing a disruption over a meeting with the fire chief. According to reports, Mimna told officers he is on the Salvation Army advisory board and was not leaving. After being told several times he would have to leave, Mimna was arrested for obstructing official business.

Officers stopped a vehicle on Dresden Avenue early Wednesday morning for failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver handed over a license that was suspended, and officers said the driver’s appearance did not match that of the photo on the license. Believing the driver to be Christopher R. Steele, 27, Lisbon Street, an officer asked if he had any tattoos, and one on his shoulder matched a tattoo on Steele’s back in a booking photo from a previous arrest. He was charged with falsification and also an outstanding warrant. While officers were patting down Steele, they reported finding a piece of cellophane with marijuana wrapped inside in his pocket. He was also charged with possession of marijuana.
