Columbiana County Sheriff Reports for 2-13
Joyce Ward, Raley Road, Columbiana, reported at 12:30 p.m. Monday she had been gone about two hours that morning and found shoe prints leading to her back door when she returned. Several closet doors were found open in the basement, along with cabinets and drawers open upstairs. Her television and several items of jewelry were missing. The dial pad to the safe was damaged and items removed from the safe. Two back doors had been kicked in.
A Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, woman reported at 6:06 p.m. Monday her 13-year-old son was being unruly, throwing items around in his room and breaking his television. Deputies spoke to the boy and explained he must obey his parents.
Vanessa Noel, Morris Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:44 a.m. Monday there was an abandoned vehicle on the road near the intersection of Morris and Fairfield School. Deputies found the vehicle with a note from Octavia Coppack explaining she was unable to get into her driveway and would get the vehicle later. While waiting on the wrecker, the owner’s mother came to get the car. The wrecker was canceled.
Patricia Grzymala, McGavern Road, Salineville, reported at 12:13 a.m. Tuesday someone was pounding on her door and she saw someone heading north from her driveway. Deputies did not find anyone or any footprints in the snow.
Duke Green, Lynchburg Road, Minerva, reported at 11:14 a.m. Monday he has a protection order against his estranged wife and she came to his business and home on Monday. She was reportedly beating and kicking on the door to his shop attempting to get in. His employee saw her coming and had locked the door. She then came to the house, again beating and kicking the door. She let the dog loose from the kennel. Green further reported his estranged wife yelled at one employee who arrived at the business while she was there trying to get in and she has threatened to burn down the house of a female employee, going to her house where her 17-year-old daughter refused to answer the door.
Roy Owens who provides maintenance at Roseland Apartments, reported at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday several hand tools and lawn maintenance tools were taken from the garage. A circular saw was also found to be missing. The items are estimated to be valued at $350.
Randa Strader, Gavers Road, Hanoverton, reported a domestic dispute at a neighboring apartment at 1:04 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies spoke to Michaela Huffman and her baby’s father, Jay Troyer. He reportedly took her keys and bookbag and she was trying to take their daughter for a doctor’s appointment. He told deputies he wanted to take the child for the appointment, but Huffman pointed out he has no transportation. He agreed to give the items back.
