Columbiana County Sheriff Reports for 1-23
Linda McCamon, Spring Valley Road, Salineville, reported at 11:14 a.m. Tuesday she heard someone knocking at her door at about 11:05 a.m. She looked out and saw a woman then heard someone kick in her basement door. A male voice questioned if anyone was there and she yelled. He fled outside. McCamon said she did not see the vehicle they left in, but there were tire tracks in the driveway.
Dennis McQuiston, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday he received a telephone call about two days earlier from Fingerhut Co. claiming his account was overdue about $1,780. The account was opened by someone in 2007, but he has never received a bill.
Nate Maley, Speidel Road, Hanoverton, reported at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday someone entered a vacant home he owns on state Route 172, taking several items from the home, detached garage and barn. He believes the thefts happened sometime between Monday and 3 a.m. Tuesday.
A possible stolen vehicle was reported at 1:03 a.m. Wednesday by a teenage boy at lot 29 at a Spillway Road address. The boy told deputies the vehicle belongs to his grandmother. She had sold it to his father, but the boy did not know how to contact his father. Deputies left a message on the grandmother’s voice mail.
Tasha McCloskey, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, reported a possible prowler at 12:37 a.m. Wednesday. Steve McVay told deputies they heard someone pounding outside and it sounded like there was someone under the porch. Footprints were found in the snow, but no one was located. The owner of the home, Lillian McVay, also reported her son lives in Florida, but called about a week ago threatening to burn the house down. He has no vehicle and plans to come by bicycle.
Den Fairchild, Malone Road, Salineville, reported at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday his 15-year-old son was threatened by another boy on Facebook. The boy threatened to kill him on the school bus.
Chelsea Martz, Rose Drive, Lisbon, reported at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday she was assaulted by her husband, who punched her in the back. William Martz, 24, was charged with domestic violence.
