Columbiana County Sheriff Reports 1-19
Maureen Aratari, state Route 45, Leetonia, reported at 4:47 a.m. Monday she and her live-in companion got into an argument Sunday night and he allegedly shoved her, causing her to fall onto the steps. He took her house keys and she left for the night. When she came back in the morning to get some property, he refused to let her in. Ed Longbottom told deputies they argued and she kicked him in the chest. He denied shoving her, but admitted taking the keys. He claimed she came back, started pounding on the door causing the glass to come out of the storm door. She was allowed to get some of her property and was given her keys back. Both signed a refusal to prosecute.
Gino Smell, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 9:29 p.m. Tuesday a domestic dispute in a guest room of the Traveler Hotel. Angel Lake of Ashtabula told deputies she and her boyfriend were arguing about a lighter and a beverage and he threw both into the parking lot causing them to break. Both agreed no physical violence or threats occurred.
Tabitha Rockhold, Haiti Road, Salineville, reported at 9:15 p.m. Monday a man was outside her home threatening to damage her vehicle with a ball bat. He left in a white SUV before deputies arrived and Rockhold claimed she had never seen the man before.
Dominique Isaacs, Crestview Road, Columbiana, reported at 12:52 p.m. Tuesday someone entered her vehicle and stole a GPS, a change container with about $30 and wireless Jam Plus speakers. Her purse was also taken and it contained not only her wallet, debit card and makeup but also her boyfriend’s prescriptions of Neloxicam and Endocet.
David Marsh, state Route 7, Lisbon, reported at 4:38 a.m. Thursday his ex-girlfriend called and told him she was on the way to his home to get her heater and he was on his way to work. He was concerned about her going to his home. Deputies arrived and found no one there.
Cafe Harris, Hannibal, Mo., reported at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday he purchased a pickup the second week of November 2013 from the Hanoverton Motorcars. Harris said they provided him with a temporary tag – three times – instead of a title. When he called the dealership to complain, the salesman reportedly rented him a vehicle from Enterprise in Missouri.
Lori Oswald, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday she received a scam letter claiming to be from the U.S. District Court in Northern Ohio, asking her to fill out personal information and send it back to receive a $2,000 check from Intellicorp Records Inc.
Lydia Dartels, Speidel Road, Hanoverton, reported at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday oil workers are sweeping dirt and rocks into her yard and ditch.
Josh Wickersham, Northview Lane, Lisbon, reported at 11:55 p.m. Jan. 8 suspicious vehicles were pulling in and out of his driveway. Deputies checked the area, but saw no one.
Tim Beagle, East Main Street, East Palestine, reported at 2:47 p.m. Jan. 8 he came out of the Pit Stop in Gavers and found a man standing next to his pickup. The man, who was driving a gray Chevy Silverado said he struck the side of Beagle’s pickup while backing out of a parking place. The man said he had no insurance and he had to leave, even though Beagle warned him he was calling the police. He left anyway. Damage was on the bed on the right side of Beagle’s pickup.
Matt Melott, Lodge Road, Leetonia, reported at 10:18 p.m. Wednesday he heard a loud explosion, which shook the windows of his home. Deputies checked the area, but did not find any evidence of an explosion.
Gary Kitts, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday he received a threatening text message from someone he knows.
Dan Brooks, Lisbon Street, Hanoverton, reported at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday he and his neighbor, Mel Vollmar, argued because Brooks’ ex-girlfriend Stacey McCullough has been calling Vollmar all hours of the day and night. Vollmar allegedly threatened to kill Brooks’ dogs if he puts them outside. Vollmar told deputies Brooks’ pit bulls have attacked his wife in the past and they are afraid of them. If they come onto his property he plans to shoot them and they have gotten loose several times. He also wants the calls to stop from McCullough. Deputies told McCullough to cease.
Amber Barr, Macklin Road, New Springfield, reported at 11:55 a.m. Thursday she is being harassed by a 17-year-old, who began texting her at about midnight and they had exchanged numerous messages since then. The girl claimed Barr is harassing her on the phone. Neither would give a reason why they are harassing each other, but both were warned to stop.
Ed Keating of Alloy Machine and Fabricating, Lower Elkton Road, Columbiana, reported at 12:16 p.m. Tuesday over the weekend someone entered the building and stole several alloy parts his company was rebuilding for a customer. It appeared someone pried open a door to get inside.
Chad Baumgardner, no address listed, asked deputies to check on his son, who lives on McCormick Run Road, Salineville, and has not been heard from for a couple days. deputies found no one home, the house secure and a neighbor said if there were no vehicles there he was not home.
