Common Pleas Reports for 3-28

In Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, John McBride, 48, Twinsburg, pleaded guilty to OVI, a fourth degree felony. He faces 120 days in prison plus an additional 30 months, a $10,500, attendance in an alcohol or drug addiction program, a lifetime driver’s suspension, OVI plates and interlock. Sentencing is set for June 11.

Billy J. Gray Jr., 46, Youngstown, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court last week to burglary and two counts breaking and entering. He was sentenced immediately to 12 months in prison, concurrent with his current federal prison sentence.

Court documents claim Gray smashed the front door of Cowen’s Market in Rogers on July 20, 2011 with the intention of stealing merchandise, then fled when an employee was inside the store. Then on July 21, 2011, Gray again smashed the front door of a store with a rock, this time at the Tic Toc Convenience store in Columbiana. He took several cartons of cigarettes.

The third charge was for entering DP Fuels on state Route 7, New Waterford, on Dec. 15, 2009, again smashing the front door with a large rock and taking several cartons of cigarettes.
