Columbiana County Sheriff Reports for 2-3
Joe Stewart, Youngstown, reported at 8:50 a.m. Thursday he had concerns about his ex-wife possibly taking their children to Florida for a period of time, which he said is in violation of the custody agreement. Deputies explained custody issues are civil matters and he should speak with his attorney if his ex-wife leaves with the children. Stewart did not like the answer and became belligerent with the deputy, but later left a voice message noting his attorney told him to call deputies and file a report if she in fact left.
Lee Hahn, state Route 558, Leetonia, reported at 7:52 p.m. Wednesday two of his foster children were fighting. Deputies spoke to the boys, ages 15 and 14, who said it started when they threw a pen at each other, then one threw the other’s boots. They started yelling and one grabbed the other by the face. Deputies explained domestic violence laws to them both and they agreed there would be no more problems.
Hailey Fletcher, Georgetown Road, Homeworth, called for a deputy at 3:16 a.m. Friday because there were some house guests causing problems and making threats, and the owner wanted them to leave. A deputy arrived, and the alleged troublemaker made arrangements to have a relative pick him up.
A deputy was called to a home on U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, at 7:55 p.m. Thursday in regard to problems with an unruly 14-year-old boy who lives there.
A deputy was called to a home on Old Route 45 in West Point at 11:54 p.m. Wednesday, where Jerilee Saling reported there was a dispute during which she was threatened and later shoved after she returned to the scene. She alleges vandalism also occurred.
