Columbiana County Municipal Court for 2-24

In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Tuesday, preliminary hearings were set for two people charged with carrying a concealed weapon in the Salem area and one person accused of breaking into a Salineville store.

A Feb. 25 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Randy J. Callehan, 22, West Main Street, Salineville, charged with breaking and entering and theft. Callehan is accused of breaking into the Salineville Carryout on West Main Street, Salineville, on Monday. About $1,400 in missing items were reported by the manager – lottery tickets, alcoholic beverages, chewing tobacco and cigarettes. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

A Feb. 25 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Dyron A. Hancock, 18, Patterson Street, Alliance, charged with carrying a concealed weapon and underage consumption. Court documents allege Hancock was found to with a loaded and locked .22 caliber handgun within his reach when the vehicle he was riding in was stopped on U.S. Route 62 near Idaho Avenue. Salem Police had been called regarding a report of shots fired from a vehicle at 1:37 a.m. Sunday in the area of the Foxes Den.

A Feb. 26 preliminary hearing was set for Angel M. Jackson, 26, South Arch Street, Alliance, charged with carrying a concealed weapon. Jackson was allegedly the driver of the vehicle Hancock was riding in.

Cody Wayne Harmon, 24, Camelot Drive, Columbiana, was sentenced to 168 and had his license suspended for six months for resisting arrest, possessing instruments to ingest or inhale controlled substances, criminal mischief, criminal damaging, four counts of theft and two counts of receiving stolen property. court documents state Harmon damaged a car owned by William Cooper on Nov. 11, had hi his possession a stolen digital music player on Oct. 30, a GPS on Oct. 26, and pills and cash taken from vehicles on Oct. 26.

William C. Boykin, 33, Youngstown, was fined $250 and required 40 hours community service for driving under suspension and speeding.

Jake L. Yoder, 22, Fairfield School Road, Leetonia, was fined $150 for driving without valid license amended from driving under FRA suspension.

Joshua E. Brown, 28, Cusick Road, LIsbon, was fined $150 for speeding and driving without a valid license amended from driving under suspension.

Anne B. Fitzgerald, 49, Seville Lane, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for unsafe vehicle amended from a stop sign violation.

Jordan S. Bell, Betz Road, Leetonia, was fined $100 and required 50 hours community service for no license.

Paul W. Myers, 40, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, was fined $100 for killing a great horned owl.

A Feb. 21 pretrial was set for Teresa S. Cassinger, 35, East Fourth Street, Salem, charged with assault for allegedly scratching, biting and pulling the hair of Barbara Bates on Dec. 15.

A March 11 pretrial was set for Daniel A. Persing, 51, Niles, charged with OVI first offense and lane violations.

A March 14 pretrial was set for Donald F. Fife Jr., 52, North Ellsworth Avenue, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, failure to reinstate a licence and disregard for safety on private property.

A March 19 pretrial was set for Bennie Fenderburg, 62, East Third Street, Salem, cited with failure to control.

A March 19 pretrial was set for Dale Lynne Iler, 46, Salem Grange Road, Salem, charged with OVI first offense and failure to control.

A March 19 pretrial was set for Kim L. Gross, 43, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, cited with driving under suspension and assured clear distance.

A March 19 pretrial was set for Russell D. Lightner, 33, Foundry Hill Road, Salineville, charged with OVI first offense, driving under suspension and failure to display a valid sticker.

A March 21 pretrial was set for Robert J. Halfhill Jr., 31, Waterford Road, New Waterford, charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly walking on East Taggart Street while intoxicated and stumbling into the roadway.

A March 26 pretrial was set for Ruth E. Beresford, 69, Second Street, Hanoverton, cited with failure to confine or restrain a dog.

A March 26 pretrial was set for Lindsay M. Stine, 23, North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, charged with receiving stolen property, accused of allegedly having an Acer laptop and a Wii accessories inside her vehicle when police searched it.

A March 26 pretrial was set for John A. Stoffer, 50, South Broadway, Salem, cited with drug paraphernalia, traffic control devices and tail lights.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Kristin M. Hoffee, 20, Fifth Avenue, East Liverpool, cited with use of an unauthorized plate.

An April 1 pretrial was set for Jennifer Grimm, Broadway, Wellsville, cited with failure to restrain a dog.

An April 2 pretrial was set for Erin A. Taggart, 18, Lakeview Circle, East Liverpool, cited with driving under suspension and a tail lights violation.

An April 11 pretrial was set for Adam S. Buckley, 39, Whinnery Road, Winona, charged with domestic violence for allegedly kicking his wife.

Chelsea A. Cope, 35, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, was bound over to the county grand jury on a charge of deception to obtain a dangerous drug. She waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

Cope is accused on Jan. 9 of filling a prescription for a Xanax substitute, which was prescribed to her husband, Jason Cope, who was incarcerated at the county jail at the time.

Aaron M. Pierson, 23, Academy Street, Salineville, was bound over to the grand jury on charges of three counts breaking and entering and one count burglary for allegedly taking a credit card from inside another person’s home on Dec. 17. Additionally he is accused of going into three homes on Victor Avenue in Salineville. Pierson waived his right to a preliminary hearing and bond remained at $10,000.

Pierson was sentenced to 90 days in jail, but credited with 11 served on an additional theft charge for on Dec. 18 taking two video games and a game console, which were owned by Tracey Crooms. He is to begin serving his remaining jail time immediately.

A March 19 pretrial was set for Joseph R. Gross, 42, Garfield Avenue, East Palestine, charged with violating a temporary protection order for allegedly coming to pick up his children at their mother’s request after she crashed on Friday when there was a protection order prohibiting him from being near her.

In Columbiana County Municipal Court Thursday Charles S. Earich, 35, Jefferson Street, Salineville, was fined $950, had his license suspended for 180 days and sentenced to 60 days in jail for OVI first offense and no license suspension amended from driving under suspension.

Casey L. Reynolds, 33, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was fined $755, sentenced to 20 days in jail and had her license suspended for 180 days for OVI first offense, failure to control and a seat belt violation.

Brenda S. Chase, 47, state Route 45, Wellsville, was fined $425, had her license suspended for 180 days and was sentenced to three days in jail and three days in school for OVI first offense and failure to control.

Roy A. Watson, 31, state Route 7, New Waterford, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to make full restitution to Agland for passing bad checks for a $124 check written on July 5.

A March 21 pretrial was set for Darby S. McCoy, 43, Canton, cited with driving under OVI suspension.

A March 25 pretrial was set for Jimmy L. Dubose Jr., 37, Apple Street, Salem, cited with license expired less than six months.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Travis Levi Neeley, 19, Main Street, Wellsville, cited with driving under FRA suspension.

An April 1 pretrial was set for Roberta L. Beabout, 51, Green Street, Lisbon, charged with driving under FRA suspension and traffic control devices.

An April 2 pretrial was set for John Taylor, 42, Walnut Street, Salem, cited with driving under suspension and traffic control devices.

An April 2 pretrial was set for Jay D. Hackathorn, 41, West Ninth Street, East Liverpool, cited with hit skip and violating a railroad crossing.

The two men arrested at a Silliman Street, New Waterford home on Thursday pleaded not guilty to the charges on Friday.

Bradley A. Carpenter and Daniel L. Todd II entered the pleas via a video arraignment in County Municipal Court. They were charged with unlawful purchase of a pseudoephedrine product, a chemical used in the manufacture of meth.

Pretrials were scheduled March 4 for the felony charges, and Carpenter, 28, Walnut Street, Salem, will also appear for prior misdemeanor charges of two counts driving under suspension, OVI first offense and resisting arrest. A preliminary hearing was also set March 4 for a possession of chemicals for drugs charge, also a felony.

A March 4 preliminary hearing was also set for Todd, 34, Silliman Street, New Waterford, for possession of chemicals for drugs.

Bond for both men was set at $1,000 for the unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine and $100,000 for possession of chemicals for drugs.

Heidi L. Todd, 33, also of Silliman Street, New Waterford also appeared in court via video on Friday. She was charged with possession of chemicals for drugs along with Carpenter and Daniel Todd on Thursday, although she did not enter a plea on Friday. A preliminary hearing was set March 4, with bond at $100,000.

Chelsea A. Cope, 35, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession of drug abuse instruments, a first degree misdemeanor. A pretrial was set for March 4 and her bond was set at $25,000.

According to court documents, she knowingly possessed an instrument for the use of a dangerous drug other than marijuana on Feb. 5 in Unity Township. Police recovered a hypodermic syringe and a spoon with burnt white powder residue from the garbage at her home on Feb. 12 after conducting surveillance there.

Also in municipal court Friday, Matthew A. Griffith, 27, Zanesville, was fined $300, placed on one year intensive probation, had his driver’s license suspended 180 days and was ordered to perform 20 hours community service for driving under child support suspension, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carl Kirkpatrick Jr., 42, Ellwood City, Pa., was fined $80 for speeding and driving under suspension.

Heather D. Blum, 24, East Clark Street, East Palestine, was assessed court costs for speeding.

Timothy E. Haupt, 50, Walnut Street, Rogers, was fined $75 for speeding.

A Feb. 28 pretrial was set for Kenneth A. Cochran, 69, Fife Coal Road, Wellsville, charged with failure to control.

A March 21 pretrial was set for Nancy K. Baker, 52, Fifth Avenue, LaCroft, charged with possession of drugs.

A March 2 pretrial was set for Kaleb E. Simpson, 23, state Route 7, New Waterford, charged with theft.

A March 28 pretrial was set for Nicholas A. Bertolucci, 32, Walker Road, Minerva, charged with OVI first offense and failure to control.

A Feb. 28 preliminary hearing was set for Robert J. Mclaughlin, 46, Shadyside Avenue, East Liverpool, charged with failure to verify address.
