Columbiana County Sheriff Reports 1-5

William Zahrndt, state Route 45, Lisbon, called for a deputy at 8:13 p.m. Thursday to report a domestic dispute where both he and his wife, Veronica, accused the other of assault. This resulted in the deputy filing domestic violence charges against both of them.

Melissa Boyle, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 6:09 p.m. Tuesday her boyfriend recently moved out, but he came back that evening and they argued. When he left, he reportedly backed over her trash cans and nearly struck her car. There were ruts in the yard.

Paulina Buncic, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, reported at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday she was at the upstairs apartment for a New Year’s Eve party on Monday night, when she heard noises at about 2 a.m. coming from her apartment downstairs. She went down and did not find anything out of place. However, when her son came home he found his video game was missing. She also found money missing from her purse and footprints in the snow outside her window.

Wes Hull, Lisbon Dungannon Road, Lisbon, reported at 10:08 p.m. Monday there was suspicious activity in the neighbor’s driveway. He heard two gunshots and saw a vehicle struck in the driveway. Deputies found Charles Mellott intoxicated and standing at the end of the driveway. A pickup was found with Patrick Post, also intoxicated, sitting in the driver’s seat, with a loaded shotgun in the front seat. Deputies took the gun for evidence and had the pickup towed. The owner of the vehicle was notified where she could retrieve her vehicle. Charges are pending.

Rich Faloba, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, reported at 7:12 p.m. Monday he believes a man he knows has been entering his home and taking items.

Larry Figgs, Georgetown Damascus Road, Beloit, reported at 10:28 a.m. Tuesday someone lost control on Lake Road and went into their field, knocking down the fence. Someone came and pulled the person out, but the fence was left damaged and the cows could have gotten out.

Mary Elizabeth Showman, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, reported at 6:47 p.m. Wednesday, the father of her children grabbed her and tried to throw her from their home. Michael Paul Gill, 25, was charged with domestic violence.

Rachel Seals, Rose Drive, Lisbon, reported at 9:23 p.m. Wednesday her neighbor was banging and pounding, causing her to lose sleep. Deputies spoke to the neighbor, who agreed to keep the noise down.

Judy Lease, Lisbon-Canfield Road, Leetonia, reported at 6:32 p.m. Wednesday she came home late after taking her son to the doctor and her husband was upset about supper. He was apparently not happy with the sub sandwich she brought home for him and threw it against the wall. He then allegedly slapped her on both sides of the face. Christopher Lease, 44, was charged with domestic violence.
