READING IS FUN

McKinley Elementary recently celebrated Read Across America/Dr. Suess’ birthday, with guest readers and literacy activities. Read Across America is not just being celebrated on one day but also during the entire month of March as students are having a Drop Everything and Read Week and the entire McKinley Elementary is reading the “One and Only Ivan” in the one school one book activity. With the Drop and Read once a day at different times, the announcement is made to “drop and read”. Everyone in the school is supposed to stop whatever they are doing and read for 15 minutes. They came to McKinley to read to Kindergarten students and brought each student a Dr. Suess book. (Submitted photo)
