BOE approves contracts

EAST LIVERPOOL — Administrative contracts were approved by the city school board during its regular meeting this week.

The board voted unanimously and without comment on a one-year contract for middle school associate principal Jay Kiger from Aug. 1, 2018 to July 31, 2019, at a salary of $68,666.40.

Two-year contracts were approved for Greg Dingey, director of technology for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years at $40,524 and for Lisa Felekey, attendance officer/court liaison, 2018-19, 2019-20 school years, for $32,800.

Other personnel matters approved by the board included:

— Camp Fitch chaperones and their salaries: John Dawson, $380.44; Mary Anne Tyge, $380.44; Maurice Brown, $351.77; Alexandra Roth, $351.77; Melanie Rowley, $362.32; and Morgan Campbell, $348.29

— Mallory Sprouse as a speech/hearing interpreter from ESC to accompany a student to Camp Fitch in August, to be paid $341.46 plus benefits

— The resignations of Greg Adkins as ticket manager for the 2018-19 school year and Michelle Wright as a bus driver so she can be transferred to a permanent paraprofessional position

— Continuing contracts to Dawn Hager, Matthew Karpinski and Donna McBurney

— Limited contracts to 44 teachers, effective with the 2018-19 school year

— Eric McMahon as a four-hour custodian at North Elementary at $14,305.07 annually, retroactive to May 8

— Hiring 23 bargaining unit employees as summer workers at a rate of $13.56 per hour and hiring 14 non-bargaining unit employees as summer workers at $10.85 per hour. Board member Larry Walton abstained from this vote.

The board will not hold a second meeting in May, with the next regular meeting set for 6 p.m. June 11.
