JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Southern Local Elementary sixth-graders Marah Morris and Lindsey Bregar leap with a little help from PTO member and mom Amanda Mayfield and art teacher Kim Adams during Jump Rope for Heart activities on Feb. 23. Students participated in jumping, dancing, hula hooping and an obstacle course to raise funds for the American Heart Association, So far, they managed to raise more than $1,200 of their $4,000 goal and had until the end of this week to gather contributions. Should they reach the amount, SLES Principal Kristy Sampson, physical education teacher Kathy Randolph and school resource officer Deputy Brandon Hoppel will dress up as monsters following the theme of this year’s campaign.
