Fuel spill near Lisbon Veterinary Clinic

The county hazmat team out of East Liverpool stands by with Lisbon firefighters at the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic on Race Road for a fuel spill. Lisbon firefighters contained the spill that happened in the parking lot of the clinic when the straps broke that held a gasoline tank in place on an Ford F-150 pickup driven by Annie Lichtenwalner of East Palestine. Lichtenwalner was on Race Road when she encountered the problem and pulled into the parking lot of the clinic. Firefighters quickly contained the fuel that ran into the sewers and was starting to flow into the creek. A mud dam was constructed and absorbtion pads where placed in the creek to create a pool for the fuel. East Liverpool Fire Chief Bill Jones notified Sunpro from Canton and the company was enroute around 7:30 p.m. to clean out the sewers and the fuel in the creek. (Photo by Patti Schaeffer)
