The annual Boy Scouts Klondike Derby was held this past weekend at Camp McKinley in Lisbon. Honing their skills in lashes and knots along with other things were practiced at different stations which included transporting and cross-cutting logs, flag pole building and raising, geo-caching, and first aid. Pictured, fourteen-year-old Nicholas Mikes and 13-year-old Jaydon Mashema of Troop 50 keep their rhythm going as they use a cross-cut saw to saw a disk off the log. After the scouts sawed off the disk, they used a branding iron to brand the Klondike Derby logo into the round. (Photo by Patti Schaeffer)
