Information sought in Chester robbery

CHESTER — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed the Chester Subway late Monday afternoon and is asking the public for help.

According to officials, a man entered the Subway at 2456 Lincoln Highway (U.S. Route 30) and robbed the restaurant. The robber, according to witnesses at the restaurant, was described as a white male wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, a black zip-up hoodie, a black toboggan and a black and white bandana covering his face.

He was driving a gold, four-door Chevrolet Cavalier with what appeared to be Ohio license plates.

Officials reported that surveillance video showed the car traveling back and forth on Lincoln Highway several times before approaching the Subway, and was last seen traveling across the Jennings Randolph Bridge on Lincoln Highway before returning to Ohio.

Anyone who may have any information on the identity of the person of interest or the owner of the vehicle are asked to contact the Hancock County Sheriff’s office at 304-564-3911 during normal business hours Monday through Friday or 304-564-4100 after hours and on weekends.
